That 10 minute bus/train ride just got more interesting. Time to put it to good use and learn some Spanish!
Here are some apps that I like:
Duolingo:
It's a fun easy way to learn the language. It also covers all aspects of language learning including pronunciation. It has levels that you can go through in order to advance and you earn things called Lingots. As you collect these by learning more vocab you can get bonus levels that teach you idioms, etc. I like this app because it really does improve all aspects of your language learning in a user friendly way. You are also not limited to Spanish. There are lots of options that you can use.
Cat Spanish:
I have just discovered this one from memrise.com. A great website for language learning but more about that in another post. Cat Spanish is great for anyone that gets a kick out of silly cat photos. It really makes an effort to make learning Spanish more fun. There are a set of levels that you go through, not unlike Candy Crush, and as you advance you go onto the next level. At the end of all the level there is the skyline set with fireworks all around and a large detonation device that persuably let's all the fireworks go off! Have to get to the end of the levels to find out! Definitely entertaining. You can also connect with your friends and compare how you are getting on. It is not as good on pronunciation as Duolingo is and after a few levels you have to pay to get access to further levels. This does not appear to be the case with Duolingo. All the same it is rather entertaining!
That's all I have for now. I shall update this in due course as I discover more apps. If you find one you think merits a space on this page, then let me know! I'd love to hear about it.
